Thio Shen Yi was interviewed in Lianhe Zaobao by Poh Lay Hoon. The article was an update on the matter between Associate Professor Ben Leong of National University of Singapore and Raymond Ng, husband of Iris Koh of Healing The Divide. Prof Leong has set up a new Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) called Lionheart Advocates to help people who are targets of legal actions deemed to be without merit and cannot afford legal representation.

The article mentioned that Shen Yi, joint managing partner at TSMP, expressed his willingness to provide the law firm’s resources and voluntarily assist in some cases. Shen Yi was also quoted in his capacity as the former President of the Law Society of Singapore, saying that while Professor Leong had already hired a lawyer, there are still many people who need legal assistance and he decided to help too.

TSMP has since taken on four related cases, with the goal to ensure that worthy cases can enter the judicial process for individuals to exercise their right to defend themselves. Prof Leong was quoted saying that Shen Yi lives up to the meaning of his name, “justice”, and that his clients also praise the TSMP team for their professionalism and outstanding performance.
