Stefanie Yuen Thio was quoted in The Straits Times by Osmond Chia. The article highlighted how a proposal to let victims of online harms take social media platforms as well as perpetrators to court to seek compensation has received public support (p. A8).
Stef was quoted in her capacity as both a lawyer and the chairperson of SHE. She said that most of the survivors SHE works with at SheCares@SCWO say their top priority is to have the post removed quickly, and the proposals in the consultation paper will start to address this.
