Jennifer Chia quoted in Lianhe Zaobao: 税务局审查所有“99对1”购屋交易 避税者将被追究

Jennifer was quoted by Tan Chee Yun in Lianhe Zaobao, in her article on the IRAS’ probe into 99-1 property purchases.
Her article included Jennifer’s comments noting that the practice is not uncommon, and that this ownership is not against the law.
It also noted Jennifer’s views that the bigger implication of IRAS’s announcement is that it is a warning that the tax authorities will be scrutinising all 99-1 ownerships moving forward as well as a signal to property agents who freely recommend such schemes as a “legal” way to avoid ABSD.
