KAREN TEO LL.M. (Boston)
Director
Karen practises across a broad range of areas in the corporate commercial litigation sphere, with a specialist focus in the areas of banking, insolvency restructuring, liability insurance and shareholder disputes, and more recently, cutting edge intellectual property litigation. Her work has been recognized in various legal journals such as Asia Law Profiles 2011, 2013 and The Asia Pacific Legal 500 2013, and she has been named a recommended lawyer for intellectual property in The Asia Legal Pacific 500 2013.
Karen's petite build masks a voracious appetite, her capacity to put away burgers outstripped only by her enthusiasm in attacking a complex legal case and demolishing challenging deadlines. Born and bred in TSMP's litigation department, she cut her professional teeth on complex cases in areas as diverse as shareholder fights and IT disputes. Her reserved demeanour may mask a fierce and tenacious opponent but even the best warriors have their weaknesses. In Karen's case, if you wanted to get her drunk to beat her in court, offering her a slice of Tiramisu will – sadly - usually do the trick.
