Thio Shen Yi heads the Litigation and Arbitration practice of TSMP, having been equipped with an affinity for debating and rhetoric, honed by his early years of practice in 2 premier litigation firms in Singapore. It is his love for the law and the soapbox that have fuelled his career, and Shen Yi is never happier than when pounding and expounding on a point of law in the courtroom. Shen Yi also believes in giving back to the fraternity that has allowed him to do what he loves best, and serves as a member of Council of the Law Society and as Chairman of the Law Society's Continuing Professional Development Committee.

His portfolio is very varied, encompassing corporate litigation, banking & finance advisory work, insolvency and restructuring, insurance and international trade disputes. He specialises in handling and advising on complex technical disputes, particularly in construction and engineering and information technology project disputes, recently representing IBM in a dispute against the CPF Board, in what was described by the media as the largest IT dispute in Singapore.

Shen Yi was appointed Senior Counsel in 2008.
