Jennifer Chia, a Director in TSMP's corporate department, has a practice which covers a broad legal arena. She is just as conversant with mergers & acquisitions or IPOs as she is with banking and finance documents. Hers is a packed professional portfolio, and she counts among her past transactions cross-jurisdictional financing, capital market issues, international acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, capital reductions and real estate property trust transactions.
Jennifer's legal career is grounded on a thorough grasp of the law. However, academic accolades aside (she was named Top Student for the Postgraduate Practice Law Course, won the Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par Memorial Prize in 1998, and was awarded the Justice AV Winslow Prize for Banking and Negotiable Instruments), Jennifer's practice has been built more on sheer iron-willed determination and grit. She invests both time and effort in every file she handles, striving always to see the macro commercial motivations that drive a deal, while tackling the micro issues with an uncanny ability to pick up on details that, had she chosen another profession, would have made her a first class intelligence operative.
(Jennifer is currently on sabbatical leave with effect from 1 February 2008).
